A golf simulator is only as good as the software running it. You can spend $3,000 on a SkyTrak MAX and pair it with the wrong software and the experience will feel flat. Get the software right and even a modest setup feels like a proper golf centre.

The Major Platforms

E6 Connect — $99–$199/year

E6 Connect is the most widely compatible simulator software on the market, supporting over 50 launch monitors including the Garmin R10, Flightscope Mevo+, and SkyTrak. The course library includes 90+ courses, with flagship tracks like Pebble Beach, St Andrews, and Augusta National (replica). Graphics are the best of any platform at this price tier — substantially better than WGT and comparable to Foresight FSX on modern hardware.

Best for: Golfers who want the widest course selection and best graphics without paying Foresight prices. Works with almost any launch monitor. The $199/year tier adds multiplayer, skills challenges, and additional courses.

Compatibility: SkyTrak, SkyTrak MAX, Garmin R10, Flightscope Mevo/Mevo+, Rapsodo MLM2PRO, and 40+ others.

Foresight FSX Play: price depends on your device

FSX Play is Foresight’s own simulator software and the natural pairing for a Bushnell Launch Pro or a Foresight GC3. How you pay for it depends on the unit. On the Launch Pro, Launch Pro Indoor and GC3S it comes with a Foresight+ membership: Silver, at $199 a year, unlocks club data on Bushnell devices; Gold, at $599 a year, adds third-party integrations. Courses are sold separately as Course Pass ($295 a year) or Course Pass Pro ($595 a year), per Foresight+. Foresight has since moved these units to Foresight Premier, which replaces FSX Play and is unlocked through a Foresight+ membership. The $6,999 GC3 includes FSX Play with no annual fee, according to BreakingEighty.

An earlier version of this guide listed FSX Play at $600 a year. We could not find a source for that figure, so it has been removed.

Compatibility: Primarily Foresight devices (GCQuad, GC3, GCHawk). Limited third-party support.

WGT Golf — $99/year (included with SkyTrak)

WGT is the default software bundled with SkyTrak devices. The course library is small (15 courses) and the graphics are dated, but it is genuinely functional for daily practice. Skills challenges are well-designed and the putting green is accurate. If you are on the entry-level $5,000 build, WGT is sufficient for the first year while you evaluate whether you want to upgrade to E6.

Best for: SkyTrak owners who want a functional platform without additional cost. Good for practice-focused users who do not need course variety.

TGC 2019 — $250 one-time

The Golf Club 2019 (TGC 2019) is the best value in simulator software — a one-time purchase with access to over 170,000 user-created courses. The official course reproductions are not licensed (St Andrews is a replica, not an official course), but the sheer volume of content is unmatched. Graphics are good but below E6 Connect. The community is large and active, with regular course uploads.

Best for: Golfers who want maximum course variety at minimal ongoing cost. The 170,000-course library includes replicas of almost every real course in the world.

GSPro — $199/year

GSPro has built a cult following among serious home simulator users. The physics engine is widely regarded as the most realistic of any consumer platform — ball flight, wind interaction, and green reading all behave in ways that carry over to the real course. The course library (450+ courses) is community-driven and growing. Online multiplayer is free and well-implemented.

Best for: Players who prioritise realistic golf simulation over visual fidelity. The physics difference is noticeable and meaningful for serious practice. Compatible with most major launch monitors including SkyTrak MAX.

Our Recommendation

For most home simulator users: E6 Connect at $199/year. The combination of course quality, compatibility, and graphics makes it the default choice. If you own a SkyTrak MAX — our top-rated mid-range launch monitor — E6 is the obvious pairing.

For physics-first players: GSPro at $199/year. The realistic ball flight model is worth the slightly lower visual quality if your goal is genuine improvement rather than visual spectacle.

For budget builds: TGC 2019 at $250 one-time. If you are managing costs carefully across a full simulator build, eliminating the annual subscription matters. TGC 2019 is the best one-time-purchase option.
